Android powered Car Stereo

I found one pretty nice looking car stereo from eBay. It has GPS, it can play HD video and so on. Best part about this car stereo is that you can remove front panel and turn your car stereo into tablet. It looks that they are two separate devices but car unit can use tablet as display. This car stereo has two separated operating systems Android 2.1 and Chinese car stereo operating system.

Specs of frontpanel/ tablet
  • ARM11 720MHz
  • 8GB ROM
  • Android 2.1
  • GPS
  • HDMI
  • 7 inch 16:9 800x480
  • 2x USB (Host + Slave)
  • Headphone jack
  • 3 MP Camera
  • MicroSD
  • Acceleration sensor
  • Resistive touchscreen
  • RAM?
Specs of car stereo
  • Bluetooth A2DP
  • Tuner with RDS
  • 1x AV video input
  • iPod input
  • USB
  • SD-card
  • 2x AV video output
  • TV-tuner (probably analogue)
  • DVD-player
  • 4x50W speaker output
  • Switch buttons color to red or blue
  • External GPS-antenna
This tablet will cost about $400. It's pretty cheap if you think that it has decent stereo and android powered tablet. This tablet has few different names like Erisin ES666, ES666EN, ES666AU, ES666US and ES666MO.

I would appreciate comment or two about this tablet

Mac OS Lion, Apples Vista

Lion has few pretty nice features, but it won't work like a charm. When I upgraded to Lion my Mac has been crashing more than ever before. Exposé was simple and useful feature, but Mission Control feels pretty confusing after month of usage. OK, exposé had few downsides like if you had opened 10-20 text documents it was almost impossible to find out which was which, but you could always press spacebar to open preview of window. That downside is also with Mission Control, because it has less display are and windows are smaller and harder to recognize.

Biggest issues
Mouse hover
Application won't recognize first click and they might do something unexpected if you press hotkey and it commands wrong application. This is also big issue with Firefox because sometimes hover navigation just won't recognize mouse on screen.

Mail
I haven't seen mail crashing never before. But after installing Lion it has done that several times. Sometimes it just crashes when I don't do anything with my laptop. It also can crash when I am typing mail. Once I typed pretty long message to my friend and mail crashed hopefully Gmail had backed up that text and I lost only one sentence.

iTunes
iTunes can also crash like mail, but that's not big issue, because it won't do anything useful except it plays awesome music.

Precision volume adjustment was great feature on Snow Leopard because it allowed to use in ear buds without becoming deaf.

It's not that bad...
Don't understand my wrong Lion is good operating system, but I don't think that it as good as Snow. Full screen apps are pretty nice feature on Lion I have almost always iTunes on fullscreen while I am browsing. Just swipe and you can change track on so on. Launchpad is also awesome way to launch applications.

I noticed after previous post that Logitech had updated it's drivers and there was now option to put Mission Control keys to mouse.

Hopefully Apple corrects these errors as soon as possible

Mac OS Lion is ready to Rock

Roarrr. I installed newest version of Mac OS X as soon as Apple Released it. It took 3 hours to download it with 3 Mb internet connection. I was pretty stunned that Mac showed that installing takes tree minutes, but it was first part of it then Mac restarted and installing began really counter showed that it will take 45 minutes so I continued installing, but in reality it took 2 hours. It might take that long because I had so many application on my Mac.

Then computer booted up. It was almost completely different that I had got used to with Show Leopard. Gestures were gone éxpose didn't work. It felt that I can't do anything with my Mac. And it felt like I had accidentally installed Windows Vista to my laptop. It took few days to get used to new features and there are pretty good after all. I didn't never use Spaces even I used multiple desktops on Ubuntu. Mission Control with integrate spaces and full screen apps is pretty good idea. It's pity that all Mac OS application won't support full screen example Blender would be great on full screen. There was also one downside when I updated software old PPC games won't work anymore so thats RIP for legendary Age of Empires II best game of that saga and Spy Hunter. Luckily I have Spy Hunter on GameCube and Age of Empires for PC, but I can't play it anymore against my friends.

Hopefully Logitech will update it's drivers to Lion because some of hotkeys work like Mission Control and show desktop. It would be also good if Apple could recovery old back, forward, home and end gestures as they were before because they work about 50% of trying. Adobe could also make a update for Photoshop CS4 to make full screen working for separate desktop without opening new desktop.

Awesome advertisement

Usually when you are browsing web you will find ads sooner or later. Usually sooner and second thing you notice that ads are annoying. If the ad has been made using creativity and art it can be pretty good entertainment.
Piculous.com has collected pretty nice list of awesome print advertisement. Those are truly creative and pretty good entertainment. Post is pretty old but ideas are fresh.

Wii U - Wii HD

Wii U was unveiled on E3. It looked pretty good as you could easily think about Nintendos products. It's like Nintendo DS, which has 32"-display connected to it and processing power like PS3 has. So it's like HD Wii. Did you noticed that Wii U is just like PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable connected together. Ok PSP and PS3 won't work seamlessly together like Wii U. When PlayStation remote play is used there is about 0.2 to 0.5 sec lag between pressing button and response. That makes remote play pretty unusable, but it's great idea. Listening music from PS3 and using PSP as a remote is nice idea and it works decently. Hopefully we get Wii U soon and new Mario or Zelda game whit it. It would be also awesome if Wii games could be upscaled like Dolphin Wii emulator has done few years backwards.
